  • Interesting bit for urS/c4 owners if anyone cares. Coilover info from KW GMBH

I have been on the look out for more aggressive coil over options than adjustable koni/2bennett or kw v1 setup and have had a hard time finding anything for the c4/urS platform. I emailed kw GMBH and asked them if they had v3's for my urs6. They replied they don't have any performance setups off the shelf but that their competition
department can make a custom two way adjustable set for our cars for 2,400 euros shipped. I was expecting to here 3,500 euros plus but was surprised to here a somewhat reasonable price. I was going to be in the 2,000-2,200 euro range for my Koni setup and I have a feeling these would be much better. They can even build you better ones for more money of course. So just throwing this info out there for all c4 and urS owners.

yea, they do not have off the shelf but they make V1 and for that they need your struts. I've done that way two sets.

Wow. Your idea of reasonable and my idea of reasonable are so so so far apart. My idea is the suspension should not be half the value of the car.

I guess on a quality to price aspect it's reasonable. I was going to do EDIEGREG's custom Koni setup and it was going to run
over 2,000 EU. I think the custom KW's are probably a whole other level of coil overs.

It's hard to see spending 2k on a performance part for a car I bought for $1,500 USD lol.
At the same time I'm trying to build my ultimate machine.

Of course UrS4/6 owners on here care about coil-overs for their cars. They may not be able to afford them in this instance, but I would have thought that they would still read your thread to see how you get on as you have the same car as they do.

Especially as there is not a big choice of coil over kit for the C4q. So don't be 'shy' about posting.

They may not contribute to the thread, but plenty of people still read it.

While the forum is called S2forum which caters for B4q S2 and B4 RS2 models it also continually and increasingly is catering for C4q owners, notwithstanding the obvious engine overlap, and the mods have not yet given the C4q a separate heading on the listings.

This is thanks in no small part to Dave's very useful / mostly helpful contributions to C4q owners with an issue, and others on here who have bought a C4 and have discovered how they are even more of a hidden gem than an B4 I5, and have started threads or regularly contribute their thoughts, experiences and knowldege.

So with these C4q owners threads, and the likes of yours, it is worthwhile to post a thread about how you're fairing with your C4q.

Apologies, all my replies are too long, but to put it into a one liner.

"Yes, C4q owners care what you're doing".

                2400€

this is set of coilovers and shocks for all wheels, I assume
still, 500€ per wheel seems far too much ... imo
KW is a good brand but I wonder how/where they'll test that and will it suit you

on the other hand, you can easely do that with adapting your coilovers with parts from a1-racing or similar for less money

yes, we no longer use the inserted shock abs.we removed the original
strut housing and put the larger diameter tube and using it as integrated
shock abs.additional subtank is using for the nitrogen discharges to
control the bumping rate.i paid around 1400-1500bucks.i'm going to
revalve and adding the manual low, high speed, bumping/rebound controller
                            soon.

Would you mind sharing who produces the shocks and reservoirs ETC?
