  • Audi 80 B4 quattro 2.3 20v

    Hello.

Since my 90Q's body wasn't in the best shape anymore (rust + dents on the body), I bought an 80Q.

Here are few pics from the last owner.

On the same day I started washing it and polishing, also changed the wheels. This is what happened.

Here's one picture of the 7A engine.

Bought some gaskets n stuff for the engine.

    Picture of the cams.

Picture of the oil sump and cam cover.

    Here's the 80Q again.

And now the fun part, engine mounts.

    Here's the whole thing together.

    Radiator mount.

    Picture just before first start.

Good combo for sure, and a great thing to do with a dead 90q20V

Technical inspection has nothing to say about all the welding? And why didn't you bought 5cyl. front subframe?

I'm not sure about the technical inspection yet because I haven't been there. The 5cyl and V6 front subframes should be the same, the difference is in engine mounts. It will sit lower because of the V6 engine mounts.

Thank you, there are similar web pages but this one runs really smooth.

Gee Audi thinks that they are different. 6 cyl, 5 cyl, 4 cyl all a bit different in important places.

Nice work I like it well done. Why did you make the engine bracket out of chocolate?

This chocolate looking thing is actually Hammerite.

Today I installed the battery cable from starter through the cabin to the boot. Also connected the alternator. 14,2v while idling, so it seems like it's charging too.

Now I have to install the dashboard back in and find out why the instrument cluster won't work. Lights and everything are working, but no oil light, battery light or gasoline, water, speed or tacho.

Hello, I'm having troubles with the spark.

I checked the crankshaft mark and camshaft mark, the camshaft was 2 tooth past, so I put it back in the right position. Then I checked the distributor and it was showing 12 o'clock, but it should be at 7 o'clock, so I took the distributor out and put it back in the right position, so the crankshaft was aligned, camshaft was aligned and the distributor was also aligned, but no spark. The engine ran rough, but it worked though, now it won't fire at all. What should I check?

How does dizzy gear look? Is it plastic or from metal? Usually that's the problem with missing spark. Also I couldn't pull out the dizzy when it was good.

The gear was made from metal and spark went missing before doing something to the distributor.

Hopefully not, I got rust allergy. Thinking of a black B6-B7 avant quattro.
