  • My Audi 100 10vt avant quattro 1990

    Hi !

I sold my vw bug and then this came to me.

There were so many problems with it gor example:

    -cluster lights
    -broken wastegate
    -broken intercooler
    -broken indicators (blinkers)
    -intake leaks
    -bad idle
    -etc.

Now only problems are central lock and coolant tempature gauge aren't working. I have no idea about that central lock system. Is there some typical problems?

Coolant tempature gauge may don't work because multifunction temp sender may be broken. It's hard to find that sensor in my country.

These are small problems. I am very happy that I solved and fixed all the failures that I had because this car and turbochargered engine with k-jet is all new to me.

Last week I took my car on dyno. There is only stiffer wastegate spring (stock boost 0.5bar) and aftermarket cooler in my car. But.... First pull in the dyno sand the results was 211hp/295nm...

It should be 165hp... Turbo seems original but i don't know what is inside of it.

Then we tried to increase fuel pressure but we didn't recieve it enough.

Then i passed fuelcut from the ecu. I have istalled adjustable wastegate cap and bleed valve too. I installed bleed because boost wasn't stable with original electrical valve. Then we raised boost untill mixture vent too lean and we have to take it back a littlebit.

Now results are 234hp/356nm 0.7bar of boost. Full boost comes at 2200rpm. It is nice to drive !

I am very happy about that but if i had more fuel pressure I can raise boost to 1.0bar.

How can i raise my fuel pressure ?

I tried this but bad results, pressure won't raise:

    Here is some pics

    Cheers

        You need AAN inside

if it's really a MC2 i have a chip for it.. "buergi" maybe you have heard from it.. better than mtm you can drive it with overboost up to 1,4 bar with a second n75 update and 0,9 bar to redline.. had it in mine 10v it war really badass to drive..

btw, i also need a better intercooler for my 10vt.. how much hp would you suggest this one could handle?

BATCH I already have aby but it's from my S2

In next month I will have a chip from Finnish audiclub member. I don't remember who done this chip but it's german guy who did that.

I really can't tell how much my cooler handles but around 250hp I don't think there is no problems.

BTW. I think I have 20vt turbo in my 10vt

That's why dyno shows up 211hp in stock and full boost at 2200rpm. Someone told me that it isn't possible with original turbo and said that he thinks that should be from s2

the german guy is called buergi.. if it's the evoIII without fuel cut, it's the best chip you can get for this car

                  Nice car.

                  I have a 200 20v Avant.

                    Thanks !

I checked that chip and it is büerg's. I am not sure what version it is but sounds good.

Boost maps are maximum and controlled boost at 0.7bar. Fuel cut comes around 1bar. Ignition maps will follow boost and ignition have more advance if you know what i mean. Frequency valve control is adjusted more rich too. I think this helps to get more power and more safety to my engine.

Last week i had new problem. One day i leaved from home and car won't rev normally. I mean full boost comes about at 2200rpm and everything is normal until 3500rpm comes.. Then engine "cuts" like ignition goes on and off and power losts. It won't rev more than 4000rpm.
                    Engine sounds like rplrprlprlprlprlp

All ignition components are new or driven about 1000km and so are fuelpump and filter too..

Someone said that i have to check knock sensor connectors and tensioning moment (9.5nm). One day before i leaved home i put some electro cleaner to connectors but i don't cleanded them carefully. It helped a littlebit. I think i have to clean connectors more carefull and see what happens.

One vibration measuring engineer said that this type knock sensors tensioning is not so important than that type what is in S2 (bolt throug) but sjmautotechnik says that it is very important. But that engineer seems so professional and he knew everything of these sensors. What are your opnions?

                    And traditionally, sorry my english

Cant you pull out some errorcode on that type of engine?
I would tight the knoksensor at the right torque.
                      Just to be sure.

Yes mc2 have trouble shooting codes but there isn't so much what that system checks.. So i don't believe that it show nothing important to me

Did you checked fuel pressure? just a thought..
The cis is running at high fuel pressure...adding the increased boost, maibe the pump is not good enough.
                          Goodluck!

broken knock sensors dont show that symptoms normally.. check your fault codes.. theres a high probability that your failure stands in there also if your knocksensors are the first ones, its likely that they are broken

Okay thanks ! I have to do those wires to check them. There is lot of work in other cars so takes time before I check fault codes
