  • Removing gearcluster with bellhousing on car.

Anyone ever attempted that? I like to remove the gear cluster while the bell housing is still on the car and I think its possible but maybe I'm missing something?

Not something I have tried. It's difficult enough splitting gears etc with the complete gearbox on the floor and using the bell housing to support stuff. What's your plan.

I have fitted a dox gear set last weekend but there is a noise when coasting in third gear. Its only in third gear so i like to have a look at the gears to by sure.

I think i will try it this weekend. I have spare bell-housings to support it while it is off the car

I dont think is much work. I looked at it and it seems i only need to remove the gear selector shaft and the drive shaft. Than remove the bolts and slide it back. I only hope i can slide it back far enough to get the main-shaft out. The main-shaft is quite long.

Got the gear-cluster off the car today! It wasn't very bad. The bolts at the top ware a bit hard but i took 45min to get it off! But i don't know if it is still possible to remove it on the car when all the stock heat-shields and other stuff i removed are still in place.
