  • Best value suppliers of parts for an OE spec RS2 front suspension refresh?

I've had a poke around on the net for suppliers of OE spec components for refreshing my RS2's front suspension and there's a few options such as bestpartstore and even eBay. I was simply going to get everything from TPS but some items are NLA or stupidly expensive and I begrudge paying though the nose for parts that can acquired elsewhere at a reasonable price.

I'm after a pair of bottom ball joints, front dampers along with bump stops, gaiters and top mounts, a pair of drop links and though the current ones are okay I may as well do the tie rod ends whilst I'm at it. The wishbone bushes are fine having already been replaced recently with either Febi or Boge parts, would have to look at them again to check which.

Dampers are my main query, I'm not looking for anything uprated but do want quality items that are at least as good as OE and fit the legs correctly and without modification such as drilling holes or using adapter sleeves etc. What have folks been using recently?

Bilstein B6 should do it or Boge Turbo.

Ball joints - get TRW as they're OE supplier.

Other stuff, I'd try and get Sachs/Boge (OE supplier) or Meyle HD or OE VAG.

Lemforder or Febi would be my preference over Meyle.

      Cast or pressed wishbones ?

Yes forget Meyle Hd,check out Wrathe's thread , Lemforde all the way,Febi making rubbish now by all accounts,Errors expansion tank! But a man of your knowledge i bet you know that anyway. If you can't get OE shocks or if you can give us all a shout,i would go with Bilstiens B6's as they have an extremely good reputation and i have never heard any complaints about the way they go about their business, that's the shocks performance. Best of luck finding what you want.

I just bought some bottom ball joints and tie rod ends from Pete Reeve at quattro corner. Always found him very helpful with rs2 parts.
I think the ball joints where meyle and the tie rods lemforder but check with him if you have a preference. Don't know much on whats a good price but ball joints where 35 pounds each and tie rods 12 pounds each.

Try mister-auto as they sell a lot of OEM parts....and a good price as I saved a bit on lemforder parts for the avant...

              Thanks for the replies fella's

I'll check out Mister-auto as I've not actually heard of them before, good to hear I can get OE quality bottom ball joint's from them.

Andy, if I can find them I'd like a set of the Bode Turbo's as they made the original dampers so if anyone has a pointer towards a vendor I'd be interested to know. Also be good to know of the Boge part number

I'll give Pete Reeve @ quattro corner a try as wouldn't be too surprised if he could help with them.
