  • Which realease bearing for SRE clutch?

I'm going to install a Sachs SRE clutch to my 3B over the Christmas break, I want to fit a new release bearing while I'm in there as well as a new slave cylinder. What brand bearings are considered to be the best quality, OE Audi?

Well I fitted a metal faced INA one and it's rattling like a mother ****er after 1500miles putting up with the SRE pressure plate. So I don't recommend that for a start!

Has anybody tried the SRE one? ÂŁ40 v ÂŁ20 for a standard sachs one seems like good value for money if it holds up (I would hope so running a full SRE plate, disc and throw out bearing?

That is a total pain in the hoop, I would have thought an INA one would be a good choice

You going to do anything about it?

Nice one, thought it might be from those guys again. Say's limited supply and to phone first, might just order one and see what happens.

So am I and it had done 50k miles before I put the new SRE clutch in.

I was going to get a new one when I did the RS2 set up but forgot to buy one
and only realised when I when to put the engine back in. I couldn't be bothered waiting
so I just went with the old one, 10k miles later and its still fine.
