  • VW bora/jetta mk4 electric problem

    Hello every body , i recently moved to the united states , and i boughet vw jetta for daily drive with 2.0 engine , it had leaky heater core and i had to change it during weekend, after that i found my odometer keep reseting itself when even i turn off the car , so i checked the fuses and i found the fuse number 7 is blowen , i tried to replace it and what happend it when ever i put that fuse the car get ignition on , and if i start it , and turn it off it keep runing even without the key and wont shut off unless i pull back the fuse , could some body help me with this , or at least give me wiring diagram for fuse number 7 which is responsible for speedometer and back up lights , and wiring diagram for ignition switch and sugest me what is shorting and doing this problem , by the way the speedometer runing ok and back up lights too , any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

    any body has access to elsawin , to provide me the wiring diagram for the speedometer and tell which wire is responsible for the speedometer memory when the ignition is off? , thanks in advance

      one of the moving part are the IGNITION switch; behind the keyunit in steering column.. try to change this switch first...

        aha , do u think the ignition switch is malfunctioning? did it happend to u before?

            aha , so u think its the ignition switch which is defective , ill get one tomorrow and try to replace it , thank you very much , ill feed back if it will works.
