  • Seized nut / bolt removal

Some time ago I remember reading a thread about a socket type tool that many members use to remove seized nuts and bolts.

I have searched the old posts but can's seem to find it.

Can anyone remember what the tool was called or recommend one ?

    Many Thanks,

    Martin

Get one of those thermal lance things if you intend to do a lot
I've seen how well they work and I'm saving for one

          That's the proper name.thanks!
          Mechanic I know has one.
You can hear rust burning off.
No messing with wd40 first, as long as you can position it you can

I've been thinking of rewinding a microwave transformer to give silly amps but low volts n having a wand with 2 pins that you touch to a nut n heat it right up for a cheaper version.

Using a single hex socket gets most them off

Oh do tell. Put mains in the secondary and then take low voltage from what would of been the primary? Or complete rewind with heavy copper? An arc welder could do similar with the current wound up? I have a 350amp murex....

Thats what everybody should be using a single hex socket set even with near new bolts!!!!! If that fails as the others have said.

People use 12 point sockets on rusty bolts?
