  • Tip to tighten the tie rod end ball joint on the strut?

I'm getting my RS2 back on wheels after an 8 month stint on axle stands...

I've fitted the front KW V3's and bambridge tie rod ends + adjusters, but can't seem to tighten the nut - it just spins. The new drop links could be held with a 14mm but the shaft is round on these - any tips on how to tighten without the ball joints just spinning? Can i put pressure on the underside to try and get it to bite a little or will this destroy it?

I don't have the time to drop subframes + change the oil pump etc on my driveway so it's going elsewhere to get that done, so I just need it pushable

Use a pair of grips or something to squeeze the joint to get some purchase of the taper

Give the taper on both parts a wipe with brake cleaner to make sure they are clean and grease free.

I wouldn't want to be the one that has to take it back apart 5 years later

I always grease it up, and have a big bar/tube to push the balljoint down, always works as it doesn't need thát much

No need to grease the taper. I agree with Alex this the method I use works fine

Use a puller from below to push up the taper

or put the jack under it and give it a lil bit of pressure.should hold enough to tighten it.
