  • 2000 Final edition 2.6 Cabby

I bought this last year with the intention of lpg converting it for my wife to use but that's never really going to happen. She bought a Saab tdi convertible (yes, it is as terrible as it sounds) and I kept this for me, but it's my 3rd car and in reality, it's never going to get used.

It's a year 2000 final edition, 17" bolero alloys with good tyres, full blue leather, heated front seats and electric hood. The hood itself is good but the rear screen needs replaced. It's cloudy and has a couple of small cracks.

Couple of other minor issues are there seems to be a battery drain as the battery goes flat in 2 weeks if connected and you don;t use the car. There is a small leak from one of the roof struts, which is common I believe.

MOT'd to May this year. I had intended holding on until the spring to sell and maybe replacing the rear screen. But, if anyone on here wants a pre-spring bargain I would let it go for £1500 just to get some garage space back! I bought a timing belt kit with water pump etc to fit and the cam brace tool but never got round to fitting, these will be in the boot if you want them!

Bodywork is good but there are a couple of scuffs etc to sort if you want a minter, but it does look very well indeed as is!

    Car is in Northern Ireland.

Last try with this before I end up sorting it out as the better weather is coming.

Open to reasonable offers as I have way too much on and could do with the time\space.

Guys, I went to check this over for MOT to try and sort it out and it now has developed a fast idle (1500 rpm) and is hunting, I've checked for air leaks and it's not that. It sat for about 2 months so could be the temp sensor or ISV. TBH, I don't have the time for it and I don't even have vagcom any more, nor do I have the time to break it (far too good for that anyway!)

If anyone wants it "as is" I'll sell for £1000! Has to be a serious bargain at that! Still has about 5-6 weeks MOT at this stage and will pass again once the idle is sorted. I was going to put it through again but the idle issue has killed that idea. Not advertised elsewhere as I don't have the time or patience to deal with gumtree\ebay muppets!

        Hi
The funny idle seems to happen when the battery gets flat
Ours does this when battery flat
Give it a good run, let car relearn basic settings and proper idle will return

        GLWS

        Cheers

Thanks, Battery was dead, and I mean, no dash lights, as if battery not connected. I swapped a battery over and it fired up but running rough. I may tax it and give it an Italian tune up. TBH, half considering just holding on to it, I don't have the time right now to sort it, but it's a lovely car and I may regret selling it for so little.

As above, its all to do with dud battery, had this with my ABC and I thought I had serious problems but after a good run and switch off a couple of times, the car settled back to what it should be.
Dont give her away too cheap just for convenience sake, I did that and have regretted it ever since

Thanks, how do you reset a throttle body? I took the throttle body off and cleaned it. Also checked the vac lines at the same time. Is this a reset with vagcom?

Fresh battery. Ignition on but not start
Should hear throttle body motor moving. When it stops start the car
What cures it on ones I've had

Car now sold to a local guy I work with who wants some summer fun. His dad owns a garage so it's in good hands now. He has the time and resources to sort it out and give it the attention it deserves.

                      Cheers all.
