  • S2 clocks

    Evening guys,

I took my clocks out to change the outside temperature gauge, but while the clocks were out, I noticed these things and wondered what they were. Picture 1 is 3 slider switches, all selected to off. Picture 2 is what looks like a removable card. Can anyone shed any light on them?

Compensation for the fuel consumption signal, you can tune +/- 15%

Ah, ok. Well my fuel gauge when I have no fuel in the tank, always reads a 1/4 full... [emoji20]

Actually, that's different. The DIP switches in your picture allow you to correct the MPG calculation so the MPG displayed is actually the true value.

Separately, you can also adjust the fuel gauge so it reads zero when the tank is empty, that's done by adjusting the shaft in the instrument cluster by the fuel gauge.

As Alex says, details on both adjustments are on S2Central.net.

Edit: don't worry about the question below, as you said answer is on S2 central - I would have read this some years ago but had forgotten about the dip switches.

Interesting... Do these just change the 'trim' of the MPG (or L/100km)? Or do they change the units??
My car has always had a false consumption figure on the trip computer showing what seems to be km/L (an inverse number of the l/100km that I should show). All other functions of the trip computer work fine.
I had a always assumed the computer had previously been replaced with one or part of one with the incorrect 'region coding' ..

Can't believe I've had my clocks out more times than I can count on two hands and never noticed these
