I do try and keep my car in good condition. She gets washed regularly and a quick Maguiar's Detail Wax wipe over.
However, twice a year she gets a more thorough going over using an old trusted method as follows:

    Rinse with pressure washer
    Devil's Snow Foam (easily obtainable)
Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner - two bucket method using woolen mit
    Maguiar's Water Magnet
    Klasse All-in-One
    Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze
    Colinite 915 Paste

This method was first suggested by JAS11N many years ago and still works well.

I was wondering if somebody might suggest some newer products that might get me a better finish.
Two further bits of advice I am interested in:
    1) best product for eliminating swirl marks
    2) should I get an orbital polisher to make the job easier (getting old)

A decent orbital polisher will deal with 1). and 2). at the same time.

Have read through the various threads on "Detailing World . com"

It'll open up a whole another new dangerous ocd world.

      Others will know more.

Poorboys Black Hole before waxing does a great job of removing swirl marks. It's my most used detailing product, great stuff.

I dunno if you've considered using a clay bar prior to the appllication of your preffered polish/glaze etc, it will make a significant difference if it's not been done recently and will enhance the overall finish

Out of interest, which detail products supplier do people use?

I washed the S2 with Mer shampoo this afternoon, then used a Farecla clay mitt with their bodyshop detailer to lift off the crap. Ran the polisher over a few areas with Menzerner final finish 3000 to take out some swirls and scratches and finished with a layer of Colinite 476. I don't know how people do this for a living, damn hard work!
