  • 24 hours on Brugge

Taken the RS2 to Brugge with the family. Fully loaded ( Mrs M packs for a year or 2) and it did 29 mpg! Yes 29! 26 on the way to Boulogne on the way back and 24 once back in the UK. In Belgium it was noticed and photographed many times, mind you it is a beaut....
Oh and it ran like dream and was very fast ......
Brugges is still a wonderful 3 nights away. Beer chocolate and good food..

I stayed here on the way back from norway in my mk2 golf last year. The only place i stopped for more than one night it was absolutely lovely place to be and would love to visit again someday.

Glad you had a good time and no headaches, RS2 looks to have performed flawlessly

I know K Simmonds does better than me, his fuel stop costs were always less than mine or our trip to Scotland, and he has a K26/7 MTM conversion. S.O.B.!

Defo 29mpg fully loaded at a constant 70mph (ah that might be it!)

In Brugge go for the Half Moon Brewery, the central tower, pubs, thousands of chocolate outlets (had to as 2 kids in tow). We stayed in a rented house on Potterierei where the garage was attached to the back of the house so you could walk from the kitchen straight into the garage. Stunning 3 bed house too overlooking a canal, 15 minutes on foot to the town centre (bikes provided in the garage but we walked), a pub 50 metres from the house, an excellent pizza restaurant 100m away, a tapas bar opposite the pizza place and a walk down the main outer canal on your doorstep passed 4 windmills.

As Brugge is Flemish (they pronounce it Bruga not Brooj which is French) they don't mess about with French either, Flemish or English is best and they love a classic Audi

Ah, ok, well my next test will be to clock the mpg at a constant speed.
