  • Hyraulic servo bleeding/priming.

I've replaced the hydraulic servo with a (supposedly good) used one, after topping up the reservoir with some green fluid I started the engine and worked the steering from lock to lock.....all good with the PAS.
But the brake warning symbol shows if I pump the brake. Do I need to bleed fluid from both pipes going to the servo......is this done in a similar way to bleeding the brakes, do I have someone press the pedal while pipe's are loosened??
    .....anyone?

    Thanks in advance.

When I last replaced a hydraulic servo, it took about 50-60 pumps of the pedal to get the light off with the engine running.

This was on a quattro turbo but should be similar.

Also check brake fluid level is OK, as a pump can be enough to trigger the switch if the fluid level is marginal, same for the PAS reservoir.

In other words, don't just assume it is the servo switch

Did you swap the switch over from your old one ?

Try to disconnect the pressure switch and see if the alarm disappears...
