  • Speed sensor

    Hi All

Jusy dropped my ride off at my local vw/audi specialist for a service,to get my A/C regassed & to sort out a problem ive had for the last 2 months odd.
When driving if i try and give it any real welly (WOT) she wont have it,this happens when the car is hot and to a lesser extent when cold.
Today i tried again on the way to the garage just to get it clear in my head exactly what was happing, and it just really roared but didnt move any.
At the specialist they got the old VAG diagnostics out and it threw up only one code :an innoperable speed sensor G23 code(dont qoute me on the digits not 100%sure)
Anyways has anyone come across this before PAUL???

G23 doesn't exist - must be a typo. G4 is the crank reference sensor but G28 is the crank speed sensor which is obviously a very important reference signal for the ECU.

Does the problem remain after resetting the ECU. SHould be easy enough to sort (famous last words).

Yeah it does go when reset so he will test drive it tomorrow and see if it reappears after WOT.
It could well have been G28.

P.S. i hate famous last word s they tend to haunt
