  • LowTec Suspension Kit for CQ

    Hi,

I am looking for a suspension kit for this Coupe (It's a Quattro 20V ABT). I need something to lower it more or less 40 mm, but which is not too harsh, with ~400 €(600 max)

I found this kit which seems nice, I read some good opinions about this brand but more for E30 etc

Has someone ever tried them ?

What would you recommend me to do, knowing that I need to change the whole suspension system ?

    Thanks for your answers
    Seb

Unfortunate name maybe doesn't help, colour is good, Bilstein esque. I know that's not really much help but someone who knows more will maybe come along, always better if they think there's a conversation going on

'80 Coupe quattro 4-zyl' - a strange specification of a car, has never been produced from factory.
Max axle load: 950/950. In coupe s2 3B supplementary manual there are figures of max loads 1035/950.

I just suspect, those springs may be good for 4-zyl typ89 quattro saloon, but not for a 5-pot car.
But that is only from theory, and real feedback from users would be more helpful for sure.

I've never heard of this brand before. I have to say alarm bells are ringing in terms of quality, you can't produce good parts that cheap.
KW V1 are considered cheap coilovers and they are 3 x the price. You get what you pay for. So personally I'd save up and buy KW. Just my 2c

4 pot and 5 pot springs look the same and are same dimensions. maybe different rates though.

The brand itself is known more or less at last at ours. My friend says it is considered as reasonable among our BMW enthusiasts.

                  Thanks guys !

LowTec seems not to be too bad , but as you said , you get what you pay for

We finally decided to take something with which i'm sure to have a good quality : Kayaba Excel-G shocks and H&R springs (-25/-30mm) (or perhaps Cobra)

Time will tell if they do their job properly
