  • S2 ABY RH Drive Hydraulic to Vaccum servo conversion

Has this been done on a Coupe S2 ABY right hand drive? what parts are needed and is the conversion better performing than the OEM brake bomb.

I am looking at replace my bomb but they seem expensive and from what I read tend to fail quite often.

Febi are asking R4800 for a new one. About 301 euro

I did this. The fuel lines are the only snag, the rest is simple. Performance is not really any different, it more that parts are £250 new not £1500...

I did search but it only came up with the LHD version.

        Must be doing something wrong.

        Thanks for the help

            All good.

Rusty from what I read all that is needed is a servo, bracket and seal. And moving pipe lines.

            Body mods are needed.

            Is that correct?

And a modified pump to get rid of the high pressure side but this can be as simple as removing the spring under the x plug.

That's about it, yes. You'll want some plumbing for the vacuum and the clevis pin may be different between ABY and vac as I think it's a bigger thread on the ABY.

I am a bit concerned about the body work mods.

Any welding/heat needed or is it a straight forward cut, drill and repaint.

You will have to cut out that brace / bracket on the strut tower so some light grinding & a touch-up will be required afterwards.

Get in touch with me if you need a genuine drop-in rebuilt pump

I did mine with a hacksaw and Dremmel, so it's as simple as cutting the body gets

Just need a smaller angle grinder, as access is a little difficult for anything too big and once it's all out, just finish, primer & paint.
