I'm currently liking my car (CQ20V) All is well, there is only 1 outstanding job to do and so far this winter it is bone dry inside!
Just for the hell of it, i have just been out for a drive and heard again what i thought to be the nearside front wheel bearing squeaking under hard right cornering.
Doesn't do it all the time and hard left hand cornering = nothing. Previously when i'd heard it, I've jacked up each corner and found no play or bearing rumble either.
By the time i had got home i'd diagnosed the problem and fixed it without even getting out of the car or stopping...
how?
Just turned the interior fan off!
This is the 1 outstanding job - take fan out and either refurb or replace. I'm guessing the bush or bearing has play and hard enough cornering causes the axle to move and rotating parts squeak on something. Thought i would share this nugget just in case anyone else has been wondering what that squeaking noise was that sounds like it is coming through the passenger footwell.
cheers all
