  • S2- RS2 sedan recreation

hi there, i just finished my actual project (an Alfa sprint with swap 1.7 engine and added sunroof)

and would like to start the next one S2 Sedan

what do you think is the best base between the 2.8 quattro, 2.3 quattro or 2.0 competion quattro ( 2500 made with alreday bumper and lights from S2) ??

the 3 of them can be found more or less at the same price ( a bit more for competition but still reasonable ), but wonder which one is best suited regarding electronic, dashboard, wiring...

    Thanks for info

Well worth doing / duplicating if time / funds allow imho.

And if it is not enough power, one can always fit a Rotrex supercharger.

The one you found on Mobile is a nice donor car, have everything you need.
But it is a 91, so a b3 not a b4. Rear suspensjon is not the same as b4.
          And maybe a bit overpriced

With B3 you will not have real rear wheel arches. All his work under cat's tail...

it s not a B3 but a B4 from end 1991, it s got the new bonnet and folding rear seats i think

Most important for me, is that i need the original sunroof because its to drive in sunny Portugal

There's a lot of great parts on that car, but it's definately a B3...

B4, the front grille is part of the bonnet

u can see differences explained here :

                      I own a B3, I know what i'm talking about.
Swapping over a bonnet, fenders, bumper and avant taillights doesn't make it a B4.

A 2.8 quattro is likely to have a higher spec if you want to use existing parts, but engine/rad mounts will need welded in.

2.3 will have the right engine mounts.

Do you have an S2 avant to swap everything over or do you want to buy bits and use as much as possible from the base car?

I agree with Typ89, it is DEFINITELY a B3. The whole back end of the car is different. Everything under the body is almost the same as B2 and nowhere close a B4.
