  • Considering selling S2 ABY

    Hi All,

Thinking about selling, but I don't like it when people dangle a carrot and then don't give full details because they are not really selling. So here is an advert I have just put together.

Car is an Emerald Green S2 ABY Coupe.

    Has completed 128000 miles approximately.

Engine modifications carried out by MRC in December 05:
    RS2 Exhaust Manifold
Marco 3" Down Pipe and custom exhaust (now 3" thro with sport cat)
    K26/27 Hybrid turbo
    RS2 intercooler
    RS2 spec fuel injectors
    Hybrid Headgasket
    Bosch Motorsport Fuel Pump
    Custom Remap
    Samco turbo hoses
    Running 25psi peak

    Brake Upgrade (June 05)
    Porsche 996 monoblock calipers
    Audi A8 discs (323mm)
RS2 rigid lines and stainless braided hoses front and back
    Refurbished rear calipers 2014

    Suspension:
Whiteline RARB and new drop links (December 05)
    KW V1 Coilovers (March 2016)
Solid alloy sub-frame mounts front and rear
Powerflex bushes on wishbones and diff mount
    Solid top mounts

    Interior:
    Plasma gauges

    Exterior:
18" Fifteen 52 Tarmac Wheels with Toyo T1R tyres (March 2016)

Comments from Minhea at time of upgrade: “It did 0.1 seconds slower test time (3600 to 6200 in 3rd) than a 460 bhp RS4. We think it is about 420bhp (it beat my test time - although i had a heavier car and warmer ambient temp). It is safe for stock rods - We would not do this on a car with stock brakes!”

    Bad points;
No Radio (I believe wiring is all in place just needs speakers and head unit.)
Crystal display has leaked, so you can make out the numbers but its not clear.
Exhaust rubs on front subframe and has a blow from the centre muffler.

Genuine reason for sale (Thinking about a more modern Audi)

    Service history;
Has a good history up until 102654 miles with Stamps in the book and invoces.

I serviced the car a month or so ago with Castrol Edge 5W30, a new oil filter and air filter. Replaced the Spark Plugs.

Has not burnt a drop of oil since.

Have also just fitted the Error404 Coil harness with 5x brand new Bosch TFSI coils.

    Would be looking for £8000

Drop me a message on hear if interested. Or call 07979787496

    Thanks

    Ben

Ben - my 2c - don't bother with a modern Audi - you will be disappointed and really regret it.
I can understand fancying a change, but only a car with epic handling will make up for the lack of character you will feel compared to the S2.

Can't imagine what you'd get for £9,000 that's gonna fill that void, keep it

If I was going to get an S2 coupé, I'd want this one. But I think I have enough cars now. Speaking of modern cars I have a 2010 BMW 3 series which is an absolute pleasure to drive.
        RS2 - Project Mental Wheels
RS2 - LHD on the road again
RS2 - reduced to component parts

Agree with above I have fancied getting something different but these cars are very addictive and rare and yours looks a real gem and well looked after and at current prices I think 9k is very cheap I would keep hold!

Sold my last s2 10 years ago and regretted it ever since.
I won't make the same mistake with my current one, which I haven't driven yet, and is about to see the light of day for the first time in 5 years.

Don't sell it for something newer unless you want a more refined drive but less driving pleasure. The S2 is a rare beast and you will regret letting it go.

Sell the beast, and buy another beast, with flatter cornering power better build quality yet equal in character. It's called the C4 S6. With the change, .. .. .. tour round Europe for 2 months.

Completely understand your train of thought Janis. But .. .. .. someone we know is shocked at how good the handling is over the S2. Another guy i know was completely shocked at how well my mega low mileage 2.8 30v drove and how firm and flat the cornering was compared was to the soft S2 coupe he has.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Think SteveH has hit the nail on the head, I'm after something more refined. And the sound of the 4.2 V8 is calling to me haha
