  • RS2 handbrake cable removal?

I've started to strip the rear hub carrier from RS2replica(wheel bearing fooked)....... got everything loose(bottom bolt marked!) except for the handbrake cable and ABS sensor.
The metal tube on the cable is kinda seized onto the alloy housing which the shoes are pinned to.........have lubed this with release oil and hoping some gentle persuasion with mole grips will free it tomorrow??.......anyone have any input on this?
ABS sensor?.....I'm thinking probably better to disconnect from loom, under back seat yes/no?
    Thanks in advance.
    John.

I have 2 new handbrake cables and new tubes if you get stuck.

I ended up cutting mine out they were that bad , here are some pictures of new and old tubes.

Hope yours are not like this

Hope you have more luck with your ABS sensors than I did

I needed to get new rear speed sensor 8A0 927 807A

      I would recommend you get new clamping sleeve's 443 927 818

And if you are going the whole hog, splash shields available from A/T 8A0 615 611E

If you need new internal parts I got mine from 9 Apart: 01706 824053 ask for Ben

      Good luck

I gently tapped mine out with an old blunt screwdriver.
Also the copper sleeve for the abs sensor from a Landrover can be used iirc.

            I see few mistakes:
proper part number for clamping sleeve's is 443927817 (or Febi 15340)
and rear speed sensor 8A0927807A is for non quattro 80/90/Avant '92-'93, I don't know what is a difference but for RS2
            rear speed sensor is 8A0927807C
            front speed sensor is 893927803A

Yes, correct, RS2 rear speed sensor 8A0927807C is the same (even with the same part number) for B5 A4/S4/Avant quattro '96-'99.
I don't have info about front speed sensors

Judging by the replies it's not going to be plain sailing then!?
                      Thanks for the part number.
                      Johnboy3169.....PM on it's way.

I always leave the ABS sensor in place and disconnect under the rear seat
