  • Dumped out of Europe!!!

As many of you will agree being dumped out of Europe twice in the space of 5 days is quite a lot to take in!!!!

England's football performance last night was quite frankly embarrassing inept no passion no commitment. These are supposedly premier league stars beaten by Iceland which is a team with one or two top league players but mostly championship players but the big difference was desire to win and play with your hearts. Well done to Iceland deserved winners.

Being voted out of the EU was something no one really saw coming but again we have ourselves to blame or a pat on the back for voting out depending on what your view is. But the basic idea is that no one sent a clear message to the general public of what the benefits of staying in Europe are and what the benefits are of coming out!!

Exciting times or scary times....maybe both, possibly a lot of folk who voted out didn't really grasp the consequences of actually being 'out'...just like Brexit leaders!
It is a new opportunity for the country however...
and no, I'm not even going to start the Scottish position/'situation'....this is a car club after all!
Good luck with the new manager btw!!

...and possibly people who voted out were totally aware of the rampaging beast that the EU has become and wanted to be able to vote for a government that wasn't having its powers steadily stripped away but a bunch of unelected socialist idealists?

If all you are about is making money, the EU makes sense, sort of, once you bring in any of the moral or democratic arguments it falls flat on its face -it is a failed project, and the collapse of the financial system only started the ball rolling.

I thought we had a "no politics" policy on the forum... the internet is awash with places to air opinions on subject things - the S2 Forum is supposed to be an escape from all that !

Aye, social media for politics, here for commiserating ourselves on the pain of running a 20+ year old car

The football was terrible though. I've not watched much of it this year, for fear that it would be the same old disappointment and because I have been doing lots of jobs on the S2. My decision to watch last night showed that I made the right choice...

I agree. We don't want an EU debate. Enough of that **** going on elsewhere.

Someone should have explained to the team that the referendum had nothing to do with football, it looked like Rooney, Kane and Hart got the wrong end of the stick when they heard The UK had voted out of Europe...

I thought the most refreshing thing with the vikings was that they didn't roll about on the ground like a bunch of big girls after receiving a hard tackle. They played hard and took the thumps like men. Unlike Raheem Sterling, who minced about like a hairdresser scared of getting his shoes dirty.
Is it fair to say that England went in cocky and had the rug whipped out from under them?

well, at least England was in France to lose from Iceland, unlike another country on the North Sea who never made it to France after loosing twice from Iceland

and also thanks to the referee who understood that football is a contact sport

For this "outside observer" the England-Iceland match was one of the most enjoying to watch.

I dont think England were cocky they were just simply pathetic and just looked if they couldn't be arsed to attend an important football event.

Those England players and Management should offer to pay those English fans who turned up a full refund and then each player get fined by the FA
