  • What is the Gecko all about?

I've seen a few posts and pictures refering to the Quattro Gecko. What is it and how did it come about?
Would I be wrong to put a Gecko on my car (UrS6) then? My girlfriend and I have a thing about geckos as we have shared most of our rooms while we have been travelling for the las couple of years with quite a few of them.
UrS6 - Homefry, Bailey DV, PiperX filter, Samco hoses, H&R springs, 3" D/P back zorst, 270bhp and 260ftlb

Triumph Daytona 955i - mmmmmm :fire:

Yep, thats the one. Whats it all about then? Is it a 25 year anniversary thing? If so, when was the anniversary? Would I get away with putting one on my motor?

You are two years too late. 25 years of quattro was in 2005.
The gecko is in reference to the quattro drivetrain, ie sticks to the road, goes anywhere etc etc.

Yup, it is the symbol used to celebrate the 25th anni of the quattro (note the lower case 'q').

Go to http://www.audi.co.uk/audi/uk/en2/ex...reensaver.html and download the gecko screensaver (simple, different and doesn't thrash your CPU and GPU unlike the various aquarium screensavers)

          Cheers n

P.S. what you really want is the Gecko fridge magnet

Mine is also on the fridge, but in a rather less stylish setting than Jas...i.e. it's holding up this weeks creation by my 3 year old son

I must find the box it came

                Cheers n

A real gecko would probably be handy stuck to the front of your car. It could pick up all the bugs before they go splat on your bonnet.
I wonder what speed they'd be rated to before they blew off.

I can understand the love for geckos. I got quite used to having them around in Thailand.
