Greetings from rainy Finland
January 2014 I bought Audi Coupe Quattro S2 year model 1993. Car was sold in Bayreuth Germany serviced in Schw****nbach. Its been serviced also in Erkelenz germany (2nd owner?) Later car was bought by somebody in Sweden 2000-2002 (register plate TGR646). Car moved to Finland in Year 2003. Car was in decent condition although a bit pinkish with good upgrades. Engine was rebuilt in 2009 with new RS2 bearings, piston rings, belts, bolts, thermostat etc etc. Things got little bit out of hand and money out of pockets once I got the car. I´m mainly upgrading handling as the car felt to have ~300hp which is enough in this stage.
Upgrades done by earlier owner
- Rosten rods
- GT3071R .063
- Wagner exhaust manifold
- 034 Spec stage 3+ clutch and aluminium flywheel
- Bosch 0280150558 (green) injectors
- 044 pump in the tank
- RS2 intercooler
- tuned by porkkis
- RS2 air filter
I only drove car from Helsinki to home and did MOT ~300km. Then I parked in the garage for strip down and refurbishing. Some steel work have been done lots of painting and still there is lots to be done.
Parts I have in shelf:
- Shifter from Artis -> Needs heavy modifications to fit Coupe. I´ll try to do CAE kind of reverse lock for shifter as well
- Dahlback intake. Hydraulic pump need to be removed. I have Audi A8 brake servo 4D0 612 105 A. For steering I probably go for Opel Astra steering pump (or corsa b/c steering column) pump would be easier.
- RS2 front brakes + Zimmermann sport discs 323x30 100.3303.52
- RS2 rear brakes + Zimmermann sport discs 300x22 100.3316.52
- Brembo (callardo) handbrake calipers
- Mr.Crossfire extenders
- Solid subframe bushings (front Offset)
- Torsen front differential from Albert
- Torsen rear differential from Audi V8
- Washers in middle differential.
- New wheel bearings and lots of wear parts: rubber boots, seals etc.
- Bambridge coilover set. Lautamäki motorsport Springs are 450lbs*8inch and 150lbs/100mm helper springs
+ Another Nissan rear diff or gearbox pump and cooler -> 9,99£ from ebay.co.uk. hopefully pump works
+ Shifter linkage upgrade -> Done my local workshop
+ If I found well priced E or F middle differential I would probably put it in. -> Bought this from Romania. Hopefully it will arrive one day.
I´m still missing
- PU bushings Probably order from Albert
- Window/roof trim/ seal that follows the roof from front to back
Now I have got to turning point where almost everything is painted and should be put back to car. Engine is still to p be painted and rear subframe refurbished. Now I have six weeks of holiday (summer and fathers). Plan is to spray tectyl on the floor. Assemble front and rear suframe to stage so I can just lift it in place. Glue the windscreen back. Replace aircon and heater core under dash.
Some sunny day two years from now Plan is to use car on sunny weekends, snowy winters and not so serious track days ( If I still get the wheels turning after torsen mods )
