S2 avant refresh

My s2 avant my wife's daily as it was, bought with 90k on the clock 4.5 years ago. Now on 130 k. Oil changed every 4-6 months

Two and a half weeks ago she rang me in tears because I'm crazy about my cars

I kept it nice and calm and told her to relax.

So here's what happened, she parked on a gradual hill facing downhill and decided to not leave the car in gear, she came back to it 10 minutes later and noticed it rolling, it scraped along a wall then sped up straight in to a wall....... Rule number one was always leave the car in gear .

Sorry to hear that story. If i remember correctly wasn't it up for sale a couple months ago? You and the wife must be gutted. Sounds like you got a great result from the Insurers. Good luck with the reapairs,she sure was a beauty!

Yes, I had it up for sale for two days and then thought no way and withdrew from the car I had left a deposit on.

So list of parts ordered from tps

X2 headlamp lens to go onto my spare headlamps I already have
X2 headlamp gaskets
O/S/F wing
N/s/f wing
O/S/F door
O/S/R door
Front bumper
Bonnet

Parts I still need to get but have to be brand new are x2 fog lights and indicators (clear)

Parts I have bought second hand But in great condition.

And I already had spare lower door trims from 3 years ago which I never got round to fitting

While the fronts apart the following is getting done,
Cambelt ( obsolete from audi) how did that happen
Water pump
Tensioner
All belts
Rocker cover gaskets
Lambda sensor
Cam position sensor another obsolete part !
Thermostat
Oil and filters change
Going that extra mile just to continue its reliability

New front windscreen also .

I'll post pics up by the weekend of work in progress. But the whole cars getting painted removing the few ripples in the panels , and all the black bits being done to high gloss black, wheels refurbished and new tyres. Ready for winter

Yes, same colour too Lz5t. Looked through your thread to find out how to remove the rear qtr glass. You have gone into some serious craftsmanship into yours

Bad news ,lovely stock Avant this, saw it in the flesh at German Classics Wigan a couple of years back.
Seen your work on the 90 though so the repair will be small fry for you

Mirror edges, roof bars, and the uprights between the door glass and upright between qtr glass and doors, wiper arms also

Cheers, obviously I've still got to investigate why the handbrake has more travel in it now.
