  • Fitting OEM RS2 Bumper to Audi 80...

So I've got me a OEM RS2 bumper at the weekend that needs some TLC in the paint department before it goes on the front of my 80 Sport ( ) But before I start, I was wondering has anyone here fitted one to a standard Audi 80 and if so how did they go about it...

I think you will find its like pushing two magnets together! No way will an RS2 bumper want to be fitted to your 80!

Well that's what I was hoping for, though I read from some other threads that there is difference in the depth between the two...

Hey thats not nice... After all the RS2 would'nt be if it were not for the 80 series, it's the father & mother of everthing Audi that went after...

Be sure to add pictures after you've fitted it.

dunno what the rs2 brackets look like, but audi 80 and s2/coupe brackets are much much different.

Here's a pic of the RS2 mounting bracket. The part on the left (with the welded nut) mounts inside the rectangular channel on the RS2 bumper. I attached both parts together temporarily so they wouldn't get separated.

Heres a couple of pictures of the offending article... As the more shape eyed may notice there are a few bits missing that I will have to fabricate or replace from the original 80 bumper...

I have'nt taken the bumper off the car yet, but I think it has a bolt fixing that is the exact opposite to that shown, eg straight up rather than horizontal as on the RS2...

The passenger side mount is missing completely.
