Has anyone painted the soft black lower door trim and not have any cracking or flaking paint later down the track?
I'm respraying my car and opted to not paint this since it is kinda soft and flexible, but now having second thoughts thinking it might look better being the same coulour as the rest of the car.
I have never seen it done particularly well so that it is durable enough, and I don't personally think it looks good, but it can be done. As Alex states, you need the right amount and type of plasticiser in the paint.

My painter didn't recommend it either saying it would evenually crack. I am however keeping the bumpers all one colour, so hoping that wont look out of place.
Mine have been painted for 4 years.
They have not cracked or peeled, however they were not new when painted and you can tell the steel inside the rubber is starting to spread with corrosion and it has made it look a little wavy
