  • Help with checking out part numbers

Hi lads. Received bunch of rear suspension parts and started checking part numbers and they don't match (subframe and diff) what's on 7zap.com.

Anyone can confirm that these will fit my 93' UrS4?

First picture is for differential and 2 others for subframe.

You are looking at casting numbers which have very little to do with the part number of the assembly which includes many parts only one of which is the casting.

Those are the only part numbers I can see on them. Where are diff code/PN located?

On the two V8 torsens that I have in my garage there is a painted stamp on the diff housing.

Checked all over it no stamps of any sort. It definitely looks like the correct one visually.

Make sure that it is a 4.11 to 1 rear diff by counting the number of times the input flange turns when you turn one of the out put flanges.

Does it have the diff locker mechanism?

If I turn one of the output shafts 2 times input shaft turns 1 time.

It is a locking diff yeah, comes with the little vacuum actuator.

EDIT: when I lock the diff it is about 4 turns on input shaft for 1 turn on output shaft.

I'll mark it up again tomorrow and do it again but I'm pretty sure it was 4.11. What car did 3.89 diff come on?

Lots of audi ran the 3.89. Maybe turn it 10 times and count the other shaft does 41.1 or 38.9 times.

That's a good idea actually I'll spin it 10 times. What happens if I use 3.89 instead of 4.11?

Your center diff won't be happy and will be damaged over some miles.

I checked again and after 4 turns I have to turn input shaft a bit more to align marks on the output shaft so it is a 4.11:1
