  • My s2 avant STEP 1

    Hello!

Didn't find my old thread, so i', starting a new one.
Got the s2 fall'05 and was happy with it for about 5 minutes (), before i wrote up a new plan to get it more some more stock/sleeper kind of.
It's a 1993 Audi Avant S2 ABY @ 200k km. yes, high milage, but it is one of the finest s2 avants i've seen around (norway). It has: Aquablau colour, klimaControll, black leather, el windows x4, 6spd manual, 5 seats and a heavy rightfooted driver. :mischeif:

    when i got it, it had;
    *big 19"s ASA ds3
    *ebc turbogroove discs
    *huge sterio
    *yellow koni's
    *h&r 40mm springs
    *white rear lamps
    *rs2 grille
    *rs2 frontlights
*T60-1 turbo (rest of the engine stock ) @ 1.6bar
    *3bar map sensor
    *bosch 044 fuelpump
*3" from domnpipe and back to rs4 exhausttip
    *rs2 Intercooler
    *chav steeringwheel
    *chav gearknob
    *chav painted doortrims/panels

..and i think that was all it had.
Now, i've had it for a few months, and the parts start to come in, and new plans builds up.

    Plans:
*new 18" bbs magnesium wheels with toyo r888 or bridgestone RE540 tires
*mount the new Ex manifold from Furans (sweden)
    *mount the new 520cc injectors
*mount the new oilcooler (25 rows)
*mount the new oil catch tank
*powderpaint the enginetop cover with the coil pack
    *powderpaint the wastegate in black
*overhaul the turbo (maybe a new one)
    *Get a bigger IC
*Get AN fittings allover and steelbraided hoses
*Get blue silicone hoses where they are black
*new remap/program with the new stuff from Jonus.
    *neuspeed rear ARB
    *rs2 front ARB
    *coilovers (bilstein or h&r)
*996 monos front with a8 disc
*rs2's in the back with separate handbrake solution.
*mount carbon details in the interior.
    *rs4 gearknob
    *refresh the engine room
*get the car approved (thats a tough one)
*try not to order wrong parts again(as i did with the whiteline RARB)

    For now i have:
    *sold the 19"s
*sold the white rear lamps and changed them against rs2 red ones.
*sold the huge sterio (the engine is my music)
*got new sparkplugs (bosch silver 0,6 rather than 0,7/0,8 that is standard)
*got the "rs2 IC on s2" silicone solution (very good btw!)
*got new exhaust manifold (ceramik coated expensive ****)
*got new 520cc injectors (green but no rs2 ones)
    *got new oilcooler (25rows)
    *got new oil catch tank
*got some carbon details to the interior
    *got new RS4 gearknob
*done a huge service on the car
*waiting for the 996 calippers from ebay (..)

so, think that was all (for now). i'll be all done with STEP 1 hopefully to may.
I will try to update as often as possible and with pic's ofcorse.
here's som before and after pic's of diffrent thingies.

    cheers,
    Anders

hehe, i like the wheels to. but they aren't allowed on the street because they are motorsports wheels only. but i dont think anyone will notice that they aren't allowed.
              790euro pr wheel without tiers in 18" x 8,5.
havent got them nor payd yet, just orderd them.

Oo-er missus - what a tasty Avant. Gorgeous wheels - worthy of their own website... and the paint job is fantastic. Those clear/white rear lamps did look hideous IMO - well done for getting rid of them !

                    Nice garage floor too

                      thanks guy's!

yes thos wheels are the most brutal you can get on an audi i think. and they really looks good on my deep dark blue colour.
just look @ this swedish A2 made by dahlbäck!

yes, glad to get rid of them white rears. it's not my taste.
hoping to do the downpipe and remap the car in the next week now, then there should be more quattro action.

Got the whiteline RARB today and must say that was fast! Got the verification mail on thursday(!!!) that it was on it's way. This is way much faster than company's here in norway can match!!

So, i sold it before it arrived.
But i was wondering, if anyone can confirm that the s4 (b5) RARB will fit my (b4) s2 avant?!
then i will go for whiteline again since they look like they have some awesome quality on their products.

S4 (B5) RARB is a straight fit for the Avant.

You need to be careful how big a bar you fit though as the subframe can crack. I use a Neuspeed RARB as they supply strengthening brackets to reinforce the subframe.

Yes, I agree. I wouldn't have my 22mm neuspeed bar on my B4 if I didn't have those brackets!
I have seen the results of broken rear subframes, and it's not a fun job to R&R either.
