  • Is it possible to covert a B4 saloon to quattro.

On cardcrash's behalf I'll ask the question.....is it possible to convert a non quattro B4 saloon to quattro, are the mounting points there like they are on late B4 estates?

I'm sure I've seen a thread where some has done this but can't find it.

I helped Acidburn with the avant conversion. It never got properly finished though.
So yes it can be done, but IMHO you really need a quattro to take some bits off to do a factory quality job!
You need the diff mounting bracketry - you could fabricate that. The chassis rails also need reinforcing where the subframe mounts. The fuel tank is also different.
I recon you could do it pretty well with parts off a B5q if necessary.

I think this is in reference to the RS2's recent demise + subsequent doner / rebirth into ultimate RS2 ragussa green saloon.

Right, cheers chaps I think we have to start with a quattro to do this properly.

Now it's a case of finding one, where have they all gone!

They are not turning up on classifieds anything like they used to, however I think a few people are holding back - someone like yourself that is well known will have more a chance I reckon, friends of friends etc

I do know for one locally - however it will be at least £1000 - Maybe more like £1500

If it's straight and not rusty then it might well be a case of taking whatever we can get.

I've PM'd you re some parts...

£1-1.5k is a fair price for a straight car IMHO.
