  • RS2 Brake Question

    Good morning,

I have had a (mans) look through the forum I can't seem to find the answer

I have a question regarding the front brakes on my RS2 the car as far as i am aware had the standard front disc's when I started the refurbishment, I have come to put some bigger disc's on the front which are 322mm but the callipers don't fit the calliper carriers there is a gap between the calliper and the calliper carriers.

Do I need new calliper carrier's or new callipers? or would it just be better to get new drilled and vented 304mm disc's?

Your help and views are welcome thanks in advance

I always thought the 304's were pretty good on my rs2 back in the day, so I would have just gone for drilled/vented if it was me.

The 322mm disc used a different caliper but the same mounting brackets. That probably accounts for the differences.
The 322mm caliper is often referrred to as the big red/993 tt. It uses different (deeper) pads as well.

        304 x32 x 5 x 130s were standard RS2 fitment with a smaller caliper:

        The upsized 322 x 32 x 5 x 130s needed a bigger caliper:
