  • RS2 ECU Removal - bastid!

Have been trying unsucessfully to remove my ECU so I can get it 'fried. Removed glovebox, plastic clip, metal clip on ecu and can wiggle the ECU but on close inspection it looks to be screwed to some sort of metal place behind it!!! Can anyone verify if this is the case with an UNTOUCHED car in which the brain has not been taken out of before?

Have given up until I know more.

    thx

    I just removed mine too,

If you look at the photo of the cage you can see the two tabs you have to clear by pushing it towards the bukhead before you can pull it down

    Hope it helps

    cheers

Yay nice one fella , talk about tight ****** to get out, had to remove the air-con drain tube too and pull up a chunk of carpet. Now I've got mine out I've noticed it has an ABT Tuning sticker on it, so I guess it had been out before.

Anyone recognise wot the chip maybe, info as below?

      ABT Tuning Teil
      Geandertes
Steuergerat...bdert (sticker is across the gap where the casing joins)
      Urheberrechtlic...geschutzt

and P5802H written in pen on it....?

@Ducky - they can be a right pain alright... Usually its just the 1st time that is really tight, but they seem to work themselves into a nice tight corner after they've been there a while. I'll try and investigate the chip contents to see what has been done (if anything).
