  • Catch tank issues i think

1st hose tapped back off rocker then connects to catch tank

2nd from crankcase to catch tank

    3rd breather pipe

4th (not connected on pic) goes to sump plug

completly removed pcv, also bunged up samco pipe that goes from turbo to side of rocker,
now to the problem, would this cause a recon turbo to smoke caused by blow by pressure, on start up 1st min its ok after that loads blue smoke, few people i spoke to are saying put back to original breathing system they say its due to blow by gasses, what i cant understand is if its the catch tank how would it cause oil to leak on the hotside if the tank is not connected in anyway to the turbo, turbo is havin new seals nothin seems to be wrong with turbo inside
    any ideas

Looks like it done well..... and your method is what i did. With no adverse effects, maybe put a pressure gauge on the tank to see if its pulling anything?

cheers james there is vapour coming out of the vent to atmosphere pipe also more like condensation coming out of sump return pipe. on the level on the side of the tank there is visible traces of oil vapours . but will this all cause turbo to blow smoke on start up
