  • anyone here with a S2 Coupé and 312mm rs4 b5 rotors on the rear?

    hi,

as the title sais, i want to know if there is working conversion with rs4 b5 brake parts on the rear on the coupé quattro.

i´m planning to fix it this way:

    RS4 B5 discs 312x22mm
    girling 41/43 calipers
    RS4 B5 brackets original

and find a fitting hub for that..

Maybe there are any other solutions with these discs yet? anybody able to give me some advices..

    Thank you,

          hi Rocco,

          NOPE! RS4 B5 312x22
S4 B6, this is what you mean: 300x22. This is the set that´s available on ebay..
          RS4 B7 i think 322x22.

PS: is this the ceramic brake on your S2? is there a thread with fotos about it anywhere?

          cheers

it probably would be somewhat of a straight swap if you dind't mind putting A4 rear hubs on the car. = +8mm offset. If you have 75mm rear wheel bearing the A4 hubs will work in the rear.
I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who need reasons when you've got quattro?

ceramic calipers + steel perforated discs not the creamic and hyper expensive ones

                    it works.... ;-)

                    hi,

                    following components:

                    RS4 B5 brake discs
                    RS4 B5 brake-caliper brackets NOT modified
                    RS4 B5, S4 B5, A4 B5 Quattro rear wheel hubs
                    S2 coupe wheel bearing
                    S2 coupe rear wheel carrier
                    Girling 41/43 calipers

NOTHING on this components is modified, it´s a straight swap without problems!!!

The REAL BIG advantage is that you can use your orig. S2 handbrake cables, cause the handbrake on the girling 41/43 is the same way as it´s on the orig. girling 38 on the orig. S2 coupe.. it´s only a little bit more outwards..

                    pictures:

S2 hub left, rs4 hub on the right:

s2 coupe wheel carrier with s2 coupe hub orig. on the left, s2 coupe wheel carrier with rs4 hub on the right:

the rotor is exactly in the middle of the brake caliper carrier:

                    yeah!

                    best regards!

Well done solving this Wolfgang. Bolt on solutions are the preferred solution in my opinion.

Very good - swapping the hub is the only cure for the different disk offset. Great to know that makes it all bolt up nicely.

Seksy looking disc by the way... and be interested to know if handling is altered much by additional track at the rear - it should give it a slightly wider stance and maybe improve grip at the rear. Let us know on that !

                              Wolfgang,

Well done, bolt on is best / handiest, and nice size at 312mm.

What cars does the 41/43 Caliper come on, is it just a B5 RS4 ?

Do you have a photo of the caliper fitted on the carrier / disc ?

Could I ask you for the part numbers you used for the disc, caliper and carrier ?

                              Thanks again for sharing.

                              Kind regards.
