  • K24R Rear Diff Mount

I'm just getting a quote for this off Kev in both 90 shore poly and Delrin. The design could also be made in anodised Aluminum for the nutters amongst us

Not sure on cost yet, afraid it will be substantially more expensive than the Powerflex item due to small batch machining rather than wholesale injection moulding but that's the way it goes, either way it will be a quality part.

Please register any interest you may have in this item below, the more I order, the cheaper they get (to a point).

Interesting....can you just explain the expected features and benefits over and above OEM and the powerflex one?

Personally, something which gives better control but minimises noise into the car would be an ideal solution (as hard as that might be) otherwise I would struggle to understand what this would give over what's there in the marketplace already, especially around pricepoint. Sorry the Product Manager in me

Didn't think the Powerflex one was around based on PF going up in smoke

Delrin / Ally will give solid loaction but more noise, depends what you're after.

As you say, if the Powerflex one is still about then a re-think might be required

Forgot to say, Coupe only, avant one can be sorted if I can see a mount

The PF one is crap anyway IMHO, all it does over stock is transmit more noise - so really your choices need only be stock or superhardcore which it sounds like Andy is trying to cater for

Stock is good imo, i have a PF one fitted to but not so sure on it.
I like the diff being able to transfear some of the abuse it gets to the mounts insted of the the cogs.

totally agree Alex, thats where i see an opportunity to actually deliver what PF couldn't which was more control without sacrificing the noise supression of the OEM one.

would need to be a softer PU, something like that which Superflex use for their subframe bushes - you can just make an indent in it with your fingernail

Problem with PU is that to make it softer I'd need to have a mould tool made and then the price gets a 0 added to the end and I have to buy a batch of 500 rather than 5

After a brief PM discussion with S2d, I might design a complete replacement ally one including bracket, won't be cheap but then it wil be a beast That said, a completely solid ally moutn wouldn't be much more than I'm expecting the poly bush to come out at (based on material ÂŁÂŁÂŁ!).

I spoke to a PU specialist in Birmingham who wasn't asking stupid money to make a mould for some bushes, ÂŁ80 IIRC for the tooling.

                        .

But if you design the 'tool', making it such that you 'err' of the small side then adjustments could be made to make the moulded bush fit.

Hope that makes sense...soz off thread...

Me me me. I would love a completley solid one piece rear diff mount.
The less movement in componets delivers more power to the wheels.

Cheers for the link, that must be soft tooling or vacuum casting prototype tooling at that price. Worth a try for sure
