  • Redline Magazine Santa Pod Shootout now inc videos

I popped upto the pod with Adrian and Dave from Fensport on wednesday for a Redline shootout, their aim was just to do well on the handling circuit but Adrian ran one 1/4 mile and cracked out a 10.7 with less power than last year so he was happy with that ! He then won the handling and Dave came a close 2nd in the Starlet with all of 500hp less ! videos to follow

It was good to have a look about some of the VW Audi stuff that attended, sadly I didn't take as many pictures as I hoped, probably as I was constantly burning from the sun but either way it was a good day for most people and a free day out to meet up with some old faces.

Civic with STOCK engine internally ran a 10.9 if not faster !

Lukes Fiesta Zetec turbo 400+hp ran comfortably in the 12's with a low rev limit

    New Camaro

    A nice subtle ride

Subaru with a fair amount of power !

    Nice looking Evo

    The 9 second MK1 Golf

    The even more insane Mk2

    JNL Racing Avant 520hp

    Fensport Celica 650hp

    Toyota Starlet 4AGE 137hp

Starlet videos : (might not all be love just yet)

Yep, 4wd, engine isn't stroked anymore and also runs a 35r instead of the GT40 as its being used in the Toyota Sprint Series as they sold the Corolla. It runs a custom dog box and a Kazz plated diff and AST 3 ways, apart from that its quite a normal spec that just works very well. A top car and something that has grown on me as I wasn't sure of it as first.

Speak to RWD19T, I guess if he knows the owner of the green golf he will know who owns that as they were parked next to each other all day.

^^^^ S4 is an S6, it's my beloved 2ton bug swatter. Breather details will come up in my build thread when I get round to it. Sort of a bit pushed for time at the moment as we're slap bang in the middle of race season but will try and get an update before the end of the week incorporating the breathing setup.

Have to say was a blinding day out nice to have a quiet mid day week at the pod. Quite enjoyed the sprint course they set up was surprised how well the boat took it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Maybe have to start doing roundy round stuff too.

^^^ We did speak then if thats your car, I spent most of the time up and the handling circuit with my camera, I came over and asked what power your car was.

I've got a 1/4 mile run of yours I need to convert and get on you tube

                Lol there ya go then.

I got loads of 12.5 vids. Unfortunately the guy video'ing for me missed my 12.43 and 12.41 runs so if you got either of those I'd be interested. Although not too fussed as still need to sort some bits out before it gets mapped up on an .82 housing before inters, as I know there is more to come out of it.
Fresh rear bushes went on yesterday, new brake discs today as the sprint course woogered them , also stripped a strip of the front n/s tire so the nankang ditchfinders are being swapped over for Kumho Sports on Tue. Tried so hard to hit 29secs but got stuck at 30.28

You know wich setup they did the 202mph run with in early december? (I guess it was the gt40??)

I have been a couple of times at his engine builder workshop, Jonathan.
Jonathan have the cleanest enginebuilder room I have seen and what a great attention to details

The 202mph run was done on the old engine with the GT40R, Jems build their engines and have a superb reputation !

And yes his work is just awesome Not only engine builds but the other projects/complete race cars as well.

                          Sorry for the OT

I don't know John personally but I did speak to him at last years TOTB, I like looking at Craig Rainers Mk2 Escort for a bit of inspiration on my own car, I'll be using one of the Jems tubular crossmembers which helps a lot for clearance issues.

They built a Cosworth Yb thats 1000+hp which has to be one of the if not the most powerful YB in the world
