hmmm, good luck with that one, looks a beasty if you can source one and gets rid of the horrible carrier plate too. I have thoughts about that going through Fuchsrohre

i mean the one you show in the pictures does not have the horrible carrier plat for the inner tie rods like the stock S2 ones have which IS a good thing

yesterday got steering rack from audi 200, it's a 5cm too long to fit in typ85/89 body, but housing seems the same as homologated in Audi race cars. Also it is 3.5 turns from lock to lock, compared to 2.5 turns, that I fitted now in my car.

The worst thing with that stock rack and carrier plate is that steering rack shaft moves not only to left/right but also front/back and up/down while turning the wheels with hot tyres after few laps and it changes TOE...

You have to cut the steeringbar and welt the two bushed on the both ends and put the device between it, so not to complicated.

So basicly its a gear... you put between the column and rack.

Just a bit dubious as the part you are replacing is designed to crush if you have a mishap. Does this part collapse?

Yes I found two versions, one original from Sport Quattro 3800Eur, ant another from B4 STW - 3500Eur, a bit too expensive will try to use from Audi 200...

at the moment I have quick ratio from Sellholm, but shaft is moving too much front/back so it makes huge bumpsteer... I tested if I lock steering rack not to move, then I have 0 bumpsteer on front over 15mm shock travel... only the rack makes bad things on Audi
