  • Installing EGT Probe/Guage

    Installing and egt probe/guage in an s2.

    This is a simple, quick and easy way of getting egt.

    EGT probe is 1/8npt, there is an m12 threaded bung in the downpipe just behind the turbo flange. You can get an 1/8npt to m12 adapter on ebay for about £8 (just search for 1/8 m12) ( I would get a steel one)

    Co2? Sniffer pipe, used for some test I believe. This is where the egt probe is going

    Remove the airbox to access the bung, remove the installed pipe.

    Sniffer pipe removed

    Adapter installed

    Probe installed (note tight clearance to airbox)

    Find somewhere to route the wiring through the firewall, keep it away from the exhaust. On a 3b there is a grommet ideally located in front of the wiper rack;

    (obviously route it through the grommet)

    Connect to switched +12v, earth and lights and decide where you want the gauge.
