the standard turbos can give upto about 192bhp with stronger valve springs and a decent exhaust,i have seen a k24 on one before but that was on youtube with little info.
Here is a corrado wih a 1.9 with a k24 with 26psi (presumably one of our type k24)

I'd also be interested in a 'plug and play' turbo upgrade for my AEL. Everyone says you need to go to a vnt turbo but that's too complicated for me to get the vnt working properly. A bigger than standard bolt on turbo would be much easier. I don't want to go too mad as I've got the S2 for that, just a decent bit of a power and torque hike without having to replace everything.
Are the AEL injectors any good for increased power or are bigger injectors available? IIRC the AEL injectors are 0.216.

Hi David the original Nozzles are good for more power all depends on how much power. Have been told good for just over 200. I am looking to get close or just over. The k24 turbo from the s2 I have seen on another ael and looking to go down this route. Just need to see what else is needed to install. Ex Manifold and will have customise housing to fit.the v band downpipe fitting.

First small run in the car today and all is well apart from the external wastegate not working a 100%. Need to fit water lines to finish the setup.
Comes on boost a bit later 2300rpm compared to the 1900rpm. Need to fit a boost gauge to see what boost it is doing. So far i am happy with the results of swapping back to WG from VNT.

Boost is around 9psi but think the wastegate is controlling it as it is 0.6bar spring. Going to get the rest if the exhaust sorted and then a trip to the rollers to see what power is. Stronger spring and chips to fit see what power I can get.

Exhaust finished 3" with one box. Sounds good not much louder than standard. Revs better for sure.
Next step to get more boost and fueling.
Change of filter to a cone and reroute pipe work so filter is out of engine bay if its possible. Tight for space as the intercooler is on drivers side also maf is huge.
Well pleased with results so far.

My last few car I have had not all audi I have had cone filters on and found to be better. They have to be located out of engine bay usually behind bumper under inner wing. Main problem is getting it there.
Reason for doing it on the AEL is the air flow to.the airbox is restrictive.
