  • EGR removal on 7A

91 coupe quattro, the egr is a mess and when fails can cause some issues, better to just delete it like you can do on 1.8t?

how do you go about doing this without getting a CEL?
Anyone do it? Someone heard that it will help with throttle response or something along those lines but i don't see how that would benefit.

    please and thank you

Do you have a picture of it, either i'm having a off day or we never got a egr on both the 20v and 1.8t in the uk, i've only ever heard of it on diesels.

If you do have one then blank it off as if its anything like diesels it will stop the engine getting smogged up, also would get rid of another potential air leak

there is no EGR on the 7A. Do you mean the crank case ventilation system?

              guess so.

only thing i need to keep is the ISV... but why is there an egr tube going into it? different then the 90 model. What is the mess of vacuum lines going to the one mounted on the intake box? That's where the 90 year ISV is mounted, this thing looks more like EGR to me.

not really a good photo, but here's my old 1990 cq. Apparently it didn't have a EGR on it? different ecu though so we can't swap it over. So I would need a 91 model ecu from the UK to not throw the codes i guess.

                anyone have one?

I stand corrected, didn't know the late US market cars had EGR. Bin all that crap!

I am sure Spink will have an ECU for you
