  • My Audi S2 coupè Version 2 - full restore - Red rocket from Norway

Hello, this is my first thread on this forum, i also got a build thread at the norwegian Audi club (VACN, volkswagen audi club norwegen)

I will just spam out all my pictures from the start to where i am now, and then update this thread as often as i do someting with the car.
And, my english should be better, be free to correct me :=)
It would be great if people ask me or give me input to what i should do or not do

    This is rufly my plans:

    Exterior:

Change the left side (done by a professional)
Media blast the whole car with soda and sand
Paint the car outside, inside and under the same red color.
    Rs2 head lights
    RS2 front bumper
    RS2 mirrors
    RS2 grille
    original cleaned back bumper
Remove antenna og windows wiper in the back
golf 4 indicators at the front wings
I got BBS LM and i will buy more rims when the car is done
Clean the car, just use red and black details, no emblems or crome.

    Interior:

    RS2 seats
    RS2 gearleaver
    RS2 instruments
    S2 steering wheel
    carbon
boostpresure gauge in the middle vent
    a, b and c pilars painted black
    black carpets and roofliner

    Brakes:

    Red Big reds front
300mm B7 brakes in the back with original handbrake function
racing brake pads and brake discs
    racing brake lines

    Engine:

If i get it the way i want it i will use:

2.5 TID block, 034 stroker crank, 83 sylinder size, E85 and aftermarket ECU.
around 600hp, this car will be used on the road, and i Norway you need to get this
    aproved.

    Drivverk:
Alu mounts onengine, gear box og diff
    01E gear box
    New SV boots
big joints in the back and stronger axels
    Short shift
    sachs cluth with organic plate
    lightend flywheel

    Understell:
    H&R coilovers
polybrushes og alu brushes in travers
    uniball steering joints
    billet topp mounts
    Short steering.

It would be great if you guys could give me some input on the color of the car, i want a red color, but with less orange than the "laser red" Audi color. something like this:

Does anyone have any experience getting TÜV documentation / certification on a car i Germany?
Where is the lab closest to Kiel? How much does it cost to get certification on a car with custom built engine?

Love it, I'm doing pretty much the same as your car too but not engine internals.
Totally agree about orange paint, that Beamer looks a nice deep red.
Rear bumper smoothed out looks great and kind of matches rs2 front( I've done one myself )bumper too.
Interior, I've been after rs2 seats for years but they are rare as tiger nuts. I'm considering seats from other Audis such as TT,s3, or maybe golf gti with chequer.
I believe the coupe looks too naked at top of tailgate at rear of roof, was thinking of mounting a small curved spoiler maybe from a new mini cooper. What you reckon?
Can't help with documentation sorry. Look forward to more pics of your car

This should be a great restoration project.
I had rust in exactly the same place on my coupe, i think they missed those parts with underseal at the factory!

The RS2 seats are rare. I was lucky to get them with the car...

I like the idea of modifying the excisting spoiler like this swedish guy better

But it looks strange from the back...

This color looks great! I found this golf mk2. The sport quattro also got the same color.

Even tho it originaly comes from Switzerland in 2006 to Norway.

                        More pictures soon!

What an undertaking. Lots of work thats for sure. And removing that underseal is such a hard job to get done.
