  • 996 GT3 calipers

Got a full set of calipers from a GT3 here, all 4 being 4-piston monoblocs.

Will the caliper carrier dimensions for the usual 996 calipers be the same as on the GT3's at the front?

    Part numbers are:

    996 351 425
    996 351 426
    996 351 421
    996 351 422

    Ta.

Same part numbers as the 996 Carrera. Later GT3 used the 6 pots on the front.

How can they be same part number as the 996?

        99' GT3 version uses 330 mm disks and 996 Carrera uses 318mm
GT3 are suppose to be the same that 996 TT brakes

No idea m8. All I have are the part numbers on the calipers, plus the Porsche breaker who told me they were off a 2002 GT3.

I didn't think the normal 996 rear calipers were 4-pot either.

            Hi!,
Got some bad news for you. As a previous lister has said, those part numbers are for 996 Carrera or Boxster S, NOT GT3!
I take it these are the set off Ebay.
There is a 996T/GT3 4 pot monobloc. They use a thicker disc. The p/n of those fronts are:
            996 351 429
            996 351 430.
            They are usually red.
They do differ in dimensions. The caliper spacing is different so won't bolt onto RS2 mounts for example. Simple way to check is to measure from the front of one mounting hole to the front of the other. If its 130mm they are ordinary 996 calipers. If its 142mm they are 996T/GT3.
Obviously I don't know what you intended to buy. If I am correct, you have purchased 996 calipers advertised incorrectly as GT3 calipers. If you have paid a premium for GT3 calipers, then get back to the seller.

Do you have any info on the part numbers for the rear calipers?

                Hi!
The best way to identify your calipers is to PM Alistair C. He can identify the p/n's for you. He's a lovely chap! In fact, I would do that first. That way you will know for certain what they are off of. You would think a specialist breaker would know though!
                I think 996T/GT3 rears are:
                996 352 425
                996 352 426.
In fact I thought all rear calipers had the 352 designation. You can see how confusing it gets. If one pair of calipers have a lot smaller pistons, then they are rears.
I am certain about the GT3 front. I done my homework on them.

It's said somewhere in the internet that:

                  "996.352.425.xx and 996.352.426.xx are the rear GT3 mk1 parts."

I have pair of those and now figuring what to do with them .

                    http://www.dutchdub.com/Brakes.htm

Just got both front and rear part numbers off this site. They are the same as the Boxster (except for the 11 on the end) so yes, definitely not GT3 calipers. Lying git.

                      Hi!

The 11 bit is the colour.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I detect you thought they were GT3 ones.
Get the evidence first to confront the seller. He can have no defence if he is a specialist breaker. Surprisingly they often feign ignorance!
                      Good luck.

The chap swears they were taken off a GT3 as they were removed to upgrade to the 6 piston version.

No matter. Have tried them up on the car and they fit straight onto the carriers I already have with the Alcons, plus the hoses fit perfect. Just need to pick up the S8 discs tomorrow and they should be fitted up this weekend.

                          Maybe it was a GT3 look 996?
What colour are the calipers? GT3 are only read. If yours are read then they can only be from a boxster S with that part number, therefore he is lying a lot.

Still better if you did not pay premium as the carriers would have not worked.

What are you planning to do with the rear?

They are black m8, so not Boxster.

The rear calipers will be up on Ebay soon I guess, as I have no use for them. I see they can easily be adapted to use up front by swapping the connecting pipe and bleed nipples over.

Admittedly they were just a bit of an impulse buy.... you know what it's like.

Porsche calipers always sell well so good luck.

If they are black they are from a 996 Carrera 2 and as I said maybe the car was a GT3 look. I have seen a couple of them. Seller did not know the stuff I think

                              Cheers
