  • Early b3 90q rear shocks

Has anyone fitted a front shock insert into the rear of a 90q with 1 piece uprights? Need a shock and can't find any rears. Pretty sure they're 55mm, definitely bigger than the front shock insert I had lying around (most likely b3 90)
Guessing 80 v6 inserts will be much easier to source..

80 V6 inserts are 50mm, and they are actually the same as 90 B3. They can only differ in manner "usual/sport suspension".
    55mm inserts are front S2 and front 100/A6 or UrS4/6 (44/45 4A). Some Opel/Vauxhall front shocks are also 55mm.
But lengths of rods is not going to be exactly as needed for B3 rear: will surely need some machining or fabrication.

B3 rear shocks can be bought new and used without too much trouble, IMHO.

I hope, you are considering later B3 Q partnumbers too.

        Some pns that could help:

        80,90 B2,B3 Q:
        VAG 893 513 031G
        BOGE 32 920F
        SACHS 170 139
        KYB 366 006
        KYB 376 002
        KYB 666 002
        MONROE MG 314
        MONROE S3 813

        Coupe 89 Q:
        VAG 895 513 031C (=893 513 031 AC)
        BOGE 32 301F
        SACHS 170 140
        KYB 366 008

        Rear Bilstein B6-s: 34-030172/P36-3017

I happened to buy new pair of MONROE MG 314 and then managed to buy good secondhand Bilstein B6-s. Monroes are for sale in good condition, but can't risk offering them to you because of delivery price.

Not that new and frequent car to find all the parts easily, and it does not get any better. And deealing with local shops is just useless, only internet stores and partnumbers found by oneself.
