Thanks Dave. Yes, everything I can think of changing in relation to it has now been changed. I have a video from the original listing where the previous owner revved it, and it 100% did not do it. It didn't sound as healty as it is now, but certainly didn't have this backlash issue. I can't find the link between its previous state and its state after the first timing belt job. I know silly mistakes can happen, but as an engineer and someone who is extremely particular to an annoying extent, I'm confident a straight-up mistake hasn't happened. I'd love to be proved wrong and for there to have been a silly mistake at this point, so at least there would be something more to focus on!

The car is technically driving. I haven't done any long-distance driving in it, as I said before, every drive has pretty much been a shake-down. My bigger concern is the hot-start issue when driving over to you! I appreciate the offer Dave. Would you mind letting me know a postcode via PM so I can see what the route and distance look like?
