hey guys, how's it goin? been a while since I've posted....MANY things have happened!!!! This is a long winded post but the background is relevant to the question.
I moved to the states for work and as a result had to sell my VERY mint UrS4 (not to mention my house!)...easily the best car I have ever owned.
Unfortunatly, it's all been a bit of a waste as the job and company has turned out to be crap. It's taken me 6 months of agonising over it but I've decided to cut my losses and move back to Canada and figure out what to do with my career.
What does this have to do with you guys you ask? Well, I'm movin' in with the girlfriend...if all goes well (aka, if i get my **** together) we might make that arrangement permanent
In which case, there could be some rugrats in our future. A 1993 VW Corrado (in longterm storage up there) will not be the best form of transport for said rugrats!!!
By that time it will be possible for me to import an RS2 thanks to Canada's GLORIOUS 15 year rule...ANY car over 15 years old is admissible for import and use on public roads....
The question is: S2 avant or RS2? Just did some poking around and S2s go for about 1/2 the price. The assumption is that I can afford to buy either (further investigation on importation costs needed!) The way I see it, I could end up spending RS2 money on an S2 and go over it thoroughly and end up with a fresher car overall (and could probably get it to RS2 spec power)....but it's still "only" worth an S2...whereas an RS2 will always be worth a good chunk of change.
Is the RS2 THAT much more special that I should focus on that instead? Is maintenance going to be that much more expensive for an RS2?
Thanks...and sorry for the lengthy post!!!
EDIT: just saw that i wrote one little thing wrong...not talkin RS4 at all...the choice is between S2 and RS2....
