What other cars give this kind of power/value

I would be interested hear your thoughts on what other cars of a similar age and value offer the same or more power for your £ as the s2 and the other ur cars.

Early Evo
Galant (Legnum) GR4
Legacy GTB
Volvo 850 T5R

Not quite the same, i know, but the 2.8i Capris were allways pretty quick, all be it sideways :mischeif: and not that pricey either, least they wernt a few years ago anyway.

My mistake ,what I ment and should of said was in terms of the overall package ie quality/performance/reliabilitydesirability/ect.

All the ones I mentioned have similar performance (I guess you are only comparing standard cars), quality/desirability/reliability are all impossible to gauge really!

And if you are allowed to put trick cams and a zorst on that Mk2 Golf, then I'm allowed some software tweaks and a bigger airbox on the S2 !

Seriously though, I think this list can only contain cars that are 4WD as there is little point in comparing the S2 to a 2WD hot hatch in pure terms of bhp or 0-60 performance. Many a BTCC / TOCA tin-top racing event proved the quattro advantage - often in the dry in the right hands, wearing the right boots

IMHO - None!

That is the whole point of these cars. You cannot compare them to any other car. I can't think of a car that I can replace my S2 with that has ALL the following:

Blistering performance (280 bhp and 300 ftlbs is still very fast in my book even today)Superb build quality
Reliable
Bullet Proof
Rare and unique
Good looking
Stealthy
Prestige aura
Classic shape

our cars ar egood alrounders. i think there are better cars at every aspect just not collectively.

Is any performance car with 150000mls + on the clock,deffinatly not many of those mentioned so far. I personally have had problems with my s2 coupe,but as a comparison my S6 is on 200000mls with original engine, clutch,exhaust, gearbox diff,ect,and still pulls like a train.
