              Photo of Item # 100 ?

              Jas,

Would it be possible please if you could post a photo of the cross head screw in the top of the S2 power steering pump and also the seal with same a "Bic" biro or a paper clip in the photo for scale purposes, and most if importantly if you had the part numbers for both the seal and the cross head screw?

Does anyone have the factory tool for opening this screw, or a photo of something they made up or find satisfactory to use, ii.e. doesn't gunther the head?

              Many thanks and kind regards.

026 145 541 is the part number. You'll get a new plug and an O-ring seal.

I've used a stout screwdriver and a small chisel in the past, shocking it into turning with a hammer. Same goes for tightening.
Then I ended up making a tool.

Tool I made is simply some tooled steel fashioned and welded to fit the crosshead recess, added an extension and welded onto an old socket for a 3/8 ratchet.

I just found some 3mm thick tooled steel bar at work, cut it down into two 3mm x 16mm x 20mm pieces, cut a slot in the centre of both, then slotted them together to form the cross hatch pattern to fit in the plugs recess, welded it onto to a piece of tooled steel bar and then finally welded that to an old broken (cracked) 10mm socket for a 3/8" ratchet I had lying around. I'd had the problem of it re-leaking after fitting a new one, simply down to not being able to tighten it enough with a hammer and chisel.

I've also bought a 16mm x 3mm Elora screwdriver socket (drag link socket) in the past, which did the job perfect on one of my old cars (cq20v). Unfortunately I lent this to someone who never gave me it back. Trouble is, I can't remember who it was

                  What a man !

Thanks a million for the very comprehensive, thorough and quick reply. Brilliant. Addictive and great forum !

Going down to the dealer for 9am tomorrow. Even though it will probably be "VOR".

Love the tool you made. If anyone on here decided they could make them cheap'ish, I would say they would make a few sales?

Thanks again Jas, and kind regards.

Its amazing what i've accumulated in such a small amount of time, it was like this for all the type 85 stuff I used to have and gave away with my car when I got rid of it.

I've got a few parts but that lot takes the biscuit

I recently decided to put a whole load of Ducati bits on th 'bay from my 916 rebuild, starting at 99p no reserve, got the princely sum of £15 quid after the postage was paid and if I cost my time packing it all up... Still there's more room for other parts in the garage now
