I was down my local earlier and we got talking cars. After talking for a while about my 89' Coupe quattor and how much I'd spent on parts in the last few months (About £2200) one of the local p*ss heads decided I was a idiot, and insisted it was stupid spending that much money on an old car.
Does anyone else get told this kind of nonsense? Or do you agree?
You're amongst friends here. I doubt anyone here would agree with the rantings of your local p*ss head. If its any consolation, there are plently of folks on here that have spent just as much as you if not more. Myself included.
my mrs was taking pi$$ out of how muhc i spend on my coupe till i point out she had lost £10k + in 2 years on depreciation on her RX8
Now she keeps her mouth shut when packages turn up at the door
Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt
Indigo ABY coupé
Imola B6 S4 Avant
All the time. Bought a spare car and running costs for less than the depreciation on my Mum's car. She can't understand that tho, most people don't understand depreciation till it's time to buy another **** euro box diseasel. Ha ha, we win cos we're different.

If it was ever about the amount of money we spent i suspect very few of us would still be owners of these cars, i know im not gonna add up the bills, and ive only just started on mine!

No, you're not.
It's your money and you're not hurting anyone by spending it on an older car. Don't be swayed by a motor mouth.
