Hi all!
I know iI should'nt have done but......it was tempting so.....
I got myself into a discussion on the biggest bmw forum in Italy
Title of the thread's: quattro vs xdrive
Tecnically and historycally speaking i know the score so eventually i drove them into a family fight between RWD bimmies vs Xdrive bimmies...... hilarious...
As you can imagine now the discussion it'a leading on:
"Audi quattros" are good when it's wet and when it's snowing but they get hammered on track by the bimmies on dry...understeering..... sidegrip... and bla bla bla
I put down a simple question for them:
Why the Audis are given penalisation with extraload if the bimmies or generally the RWD cars are so superior?
I know myself that Audi quattros were banned from track racing on a certain point i know they got the handicap of weight to carry but i can't find on the web reference for kilograms (how much?) somewhere i found 95 kilos.....and period
When they got banned: date?
When they started to be forced to carry extraload? Date?
Also one of the bimmies fan declared that even the RWD are forced to carry additional weight vs FWD to compensate the total weight....and here i have my limit of knowledge......
If that it's true what's the value compared to the weight given to the quattros?
I hope some expert of DTM/TOCA/IMSA and other track competition where the Audi got into it can give me some hints....
Thanks a lot in advance
Stefano
P.S.
web Links for trust are very much appreciated
