Oh yeah Mr Tonks- I remember this now... in all my puff I have never seen one without sockets. WOnder is it a really early 3B from an Audi 200 or something ?

Early 3b from audi 200 has sockets. There's slight chance, that it is "replacement" ECU from some BOSCH factory in spain (?), which was refurbishing "core return" ECU's. Sometimes they have unusual insides, because they were refurbished past 2000 year, or repaired. Note that such ECU's carry X at the end of their part number.

I would be gratefull if someone put picture of non socketed 3b ecu here.

All 3B ECUs are socketed from factory... I have one for sale at the moment for £200 in stock setup... more if you want it upgraded for ~280bhp
